Orthomania (formerly Ortho-Mania) is an orthodontic training program for BDS general dentists, founded by Dr. Hitesh Nagrath, MDS, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics. It has an offline Module-wise Program in Mumbai (8 days in 3 modules over about 6 months) and an online course with recorded lessons, a certificate and 3 years of case support.

The offline program
Three modules, spaced so you can practise in between
Each module is about two months apart. You return with real cases and real questions, and each module builds on the one before.

Diagnosis and case selection
Consultation, history, examination and which cases to take on.
Records and planning
OPG, lateral cephalogram, photographs, models and a written plan.
MBT appliance and bonding
Bracket placement, bonding on enamel and restorations, wire sequences.

Why teeth move the way they do, and how to plan force and anchorage.
Deep bite and open bite
Vertical problems, growth pattern and face type.
Mini implants
Anatomy, placement sites and force systems for skeletal anchorage.
Finishing and retention
Bends, torque, detailing, debonding and retainers.

Aligner case selection, attachments, IPR and myofunctional appliances.

Dr. Hitesh Nagrath
MDS, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics (2015). Practising orthodontist in Mumbai and the founder of Orthomania. Since 2018 he has trained and mentored general dentists who want to begin orthodontic treatment in their own clinics.
Every module is taught by him directly, and he is the person who answers your case questions after the course.

Common questions
Who can attend an Orthomania orthodontic course?
Any qualified dentist with a BDS degree can attend. The programs are designed for general dental practitioners and no prior orthodontic experience is needed. We welcome BDS dentists from across India and abroad, and we especially encourage dentists from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
Is Orthomania a degree, diploma or fellowship?
No. Orthomania is a skill enhancement program for qualified, practising dentists. It does not confer any academic degree, diploma, fellowship or specialist recognition. Participants receive a certificate of attendance or participation.
Who teaches the course?
The course is taught by Dr. Hitesh Nagrath, who holds an MDS, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics (2015) and has been in private orthodontic practice in Mumbai. He has trained general dentists since 2018. Read more on the Dr Hitesh Nagrath page.

What is the Orthomania online orthodontic course?
It is a structured online orthodontic course for general dentists, taught by Dr Hitesh Nagrath. The current portal edition has 12 recorded video lessons of about 2 hours each, from diagnosis to retention, with aligners and myofunctional appliances included.
